Leading the scale out environment with integrated Lights-Out management
The ProLiant DL360 Generation leads the scale out environment, combining concentrated, 1U compute power with unmatched system features such as embedded remote management and optional redundant power. Xeon processors with 533MHz front side bus, combined with DDR SDRAM and PCI-X technology means the DL360 can handle greater transaction workloads for web hosting, infrastructure applications, and terminal services. ProLiant engineering leadership is evident in the remote management capabilities of integrated Lights Out technology embedded in every DL360 providing OS-independent remote console and remote power on/off. In addition, to meet the demanding fault tolerance requirements of corporate data centers, the DL360 G3 now offers optional hot plug redundant power.
Integrated Lights Out (iLO)
The DL360 G3 offers industry-leading iLO embedded remote management technology, providing a rich suite of lights-out features as standard components of the server. Standard features include remote power on/off, a text interface for remote viewing and management of the server's boot sequence, server logs, alert forwarding, diagnostics, group administration, and robust security features including 128 bit SSL encryption. The advanced features of the iLO can be easily activated while the server is online, by applying a license key sold as a separate option. ILO Advanced features include virtual graphical console and virtual floppy that provide in-front-of-the-server access and control to systems located at remote sites and dense data centers.
Embeded Smart Array 5i+
The Smart Array 5i+ provides RAID 0 or RAID 1 capabilities, and includes 64MB of memory. This embedded solution uses the same firmware used in all ProLiant Smart Array products, so interoperability of RAID configured drives is guaranteed. That means that a drive removed from a DL360 G3 can be placed in any ProLiant server or storage enclosure and the Smart Array firmware will recognize the drive's place within the array, without any data loss or drive re-formatting. This interoperability of drives among all ProLiant servers and storage enclosures is a hallmark of the Smart Array technology. In the DL360 G3, the Smart Array 5i+ has an optional battery-backup that is fully transportable, and can be moved to another DL360 G3 to recover data stored in the cache in the event of a system failure.
Optional Redundant Power
The DL360 G3 now offers an optional hot plug redundant power supply. This brings redundant power directly into the 1U form factor, and also provides two power cords for installations that run redundant power to the rack. The system can be configured with either one or two full-length PCI-X slots. One full-length slot is available if the redundant power supply is installed, two slots are available if the redundant power supply is not installed.
