Included Ontrack Disk Manager DiskGo! software makes drive installation easy. This software prepares the drive for use, migrates data from older, slower drives, and overcomes legacy hardware, BIOS, and operating system addressing limitations that would otherwise limit the usable capacity to 2.1, 4.2, 8.4, or 32GB. DiskGo! creates customized installation instructions in English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese or Spanish.
Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology, (S.M.A.R.T.) in the drive warns of predictable impending drive failure. Drives predicting failure within the limited warranty period are entitled to replacement at IBM's expense before failure. IBM's Rapid Restore PC software (available separately) can perform unattended backup from these drives before failure.
Offered with a 3-Year stand-alone, limited warranty, this drive also takes on the warranty terms of the IBM PC in which it is installed. In many cases this entitles the drive to on-site service for up to three years.
